Well, this was the first time we went to this restaurant. However, the food isn't up to our mark....

I and monkeyzai both love delicious foods, we are not picky but we do demand a reasonable price for what the level of quality that gets into our tummy

OK... here is how it starts . Like many others restaurant, they served bread at the beginning ... nice bun... nice butter actually... haha... remember about 10 years old ago, my family started to consume this "star" brand butter...

I ordered this soup "seafood Chowder Manhattan"... so far so good...

Monkeyzai drank this "VS oxtail soup"... I dare not to try it, he said not bad...

The "Mixed Grill"... meat was just too hard to chew... over-baked... big no no...

"Lobster & lam cutlets" ... Personally, I love lamb more than anything else... HOWEVER, the lamb was just too hard to chew.... totally different from what I had in other restaurants... FML...

Environment wasn't as good or close to what we have heard........ I mean, this is just a normal ambiance, I can't manage to find a thing that would attract me for a second try

After the dinner, they provided this lil card with the bill...

after all, 2 main dishes, 2 fruit juices, 2 buns, 2 soups and this lil card, the bill was about RM175...

The quality so so, I would rather give another RM 80 to another hotel's restaurant for a better taste and better ambiance... :)

Steamboat Buffet: FIght For The Chicken

Up till MickeyMiao brought me to these steamboats, I have never had anything like this... well, I have eaten steamboat before but never the kind that is buffet style ...

However, it wasn't the buffet style that distinguish itself of its uniqueness. I mean, the concept of buffet is just a matter of more consumption of the food. But, there's this differentiator that you just don't find from the typical buffets...

...which I coin it as FFC ( Fight For Chicken ) Scene

OK, typically everyone would be moving around taking their own food or stocks... BUT there will be this group of "customers" who are very good at making themselves concentrated at one area of the building.... this collective group will just do so without informing one another... it's like their mind are connected with a timer to do a specific task.

Their principle is as followed in executing their task

First Principle : Find the strategic spot

Second Principle : Grab The Chicken

Third Principle : Execution of second principle by all means

Forth Principle : Grab More Chickens

So, when one day when I, yes, me too, was able to strategically and tactically achieve my objective...

It was strange... the chicken itself wasn't as tasty but somehow the process of FFC somehow make it interesting routine whenever we go for a steamboat buffet

A girl in love asked her boyfriend.

Girl: Tell me. Who do you love most in this world?

Boy: You, of course!

Boy: The boy thought for a moment and looked intently in her eyes and said, "You are my rib. It was said that God saw that Adam was lonely, during his sleep, God took one of Adam's rib and created Eve. Every man has been searching for his missing rib, only when you find the woman of your life, you'll no longer feel the lingering ache in your heart."

After their wedding, the couple had a sweet and happy life for a while.

However, the youthful couple began to drift apart due to the busy schedule of life and the never-ending worries of daily problems, their life became mundane.

All the challenges posed by the harsh realities of life began to gnaw away their dreams and love for each other. The couple began to have more quarrels and each quarrel became more heated.

One day, after the quarrel, the girl ran out of the house. At the opposite side of the road, she shouted, "You don't love me!"

The boy hated her childishness and out of impulse, retorted, "Maybe, it was a mistake for us to be together! You were never my missing rib!"

Suddenly, she turned quiet and stood there for a long while. He regretted what he said but words spoken are like thrown away water, you can never take it back. With tears, she went home to pack her things and was determined in breaking-up.

Before she left the house, "If I'm really not your missing rib, please let me go." She continued, "It is less painful this way. Let us go on our separate ways and search for our own partners."

Five years went by...

He never remarried but he had tried to find out about her life indirectly. She had left the country and back. She had married a foreigner and divorced. He felt anguished that she never waited for him.

In the dark and lonely night, he lit his cigarette and felt the lingering ache in his heart. He couldn't bring himself to admit that he was missing her.

One day, they finally met. At the airport, a place where there were many reunions and good byes. He was going away on a business trip. She was standing there alone, with just the security door separating them. She smiled at him gently.

Boy: How are you?

Girl: I'm fine. How about you? Have you found your missing rib?

Boy: No.

Girl: I'll be flying to New York in the next flight.

Boy: I'll be back in 2 weeks time. Give me a call when you are back. You know my number. Nothing has changed.

With a smile, she turned around and waved good bye.

Good bye...

One week later, he heard of her death. She had perished in New York, in the event that shocked the world.

Midnight, once again, he lit his cigarette. And like before, he felt the lingering ache in his heart. He finally knew. She was the missing rib that he had carelessly broken.

Sometimes, people say things out of moments of fury. Most often than not, the outcome could be disastrous and detrimental. We vent our frustrations 99% at our loved ones. And even though we know that we ought to "think twice and act wisely", it's often easier said than done.

Things happen each day, many of which are beyond our control. Let us treasure every moment and everyone in our lives.

Tomorrow may never come. Give and accept what you have today

There are troops all over Colombo... you see one here BUT, every 10 minutes along the transportation... you'll see a bunch of troops guarding the whole Colombo....

Lucky draw stall everywhere ...

fine dinning restaurant, not many though...

if you found one, foods are the main concern... pick carefully (my advice)

Art and crafts are the culture... Just like Indonesia...

Choice from table to fringe magnet...

lil pricy...yet, the craft works are gorgous!

well, maybe they obliviously knew that we are not Sri Lankan...

Spice Garden... Herb garden....

Locally grew the plants and generally.... all about organic cream, syrup and balm...

Sound useful but a few hundred ringgit for a lil bottle...makes me feel like they are trying to "slaughter" us..

Their "Instant Remove Hair" demonstration was amazing !.

Tourists must go venue...

Frankly, this place is soooo smelly...

I had to use my shawl covered my nose...

can't afford to enjoy though...

anyway, it's interesting as those elephants are not really tied up with lock...

Chinese New Year is just around the corner... Many people are planning to go China, UK, or any other countries... just to escape the chance from listening "GONG XI FATT CAI" and the next second force to give "ANG POU" to people... Well well well... while people are busy with their plans... WE, are fortunate enough to have a FREE trip to go... Hmn.. a place near Malaysia... GUESS WHAT!? it's SRI LANKA...

Never in my life have thought to go SL (no offences, just personal view!) since I prefer to go Singapore.... Yet, Mickeymiao is pretty happy when she heard the trip is to SL... WHY!!!????

Because she always wants to try new things and she enjoys to go exotic places...AND really looking forward to this adventure.. Although am not sure it's a place I should call it as exotic... WELL, never mind... Just wish this trip would have heaps of FUN!!!!!!

The time when I told Mickeymiao about this trip, she was excited... since she thought SL is not far from INDIA... She likes INDIA so much so.. like during her 14 years old... She promised herself she must go to INDIA at least once in her lifetime... She thought she can commute to India from SL....

HAHAHA... Silly girl, we have to get a VISA lah...

Put aside about this trip, Mickeymiao constantly has luck to make friend with Indian, Sri Lankan or even Bengali... Odd??? no, OF COURSE not!... she enjoyed her time in UK ... since she knew more indian, sri lankan, bengali than chinese....and they are her best friends EVER...

Still remember her last moment in London, she was staying with BBS (British-Born-SriLankan)... had a series of Sri Lankan's foods during that whole week in London.. Mickeymiao loved them so much, as well as SL's cuisine and she really appreciated their kinds even she was really broke a.k.a poor... :-)

Mickeymiao learnt to use her fingers grabbed steam rice... she said that was so difficult to use fingers as she did not use to their culture...

It happened a month ago, Mickeymiao's ex-colleague introduced her to a blog since he said everything of this blogger bakes seemingly refine and really delicious.... Due to curiosity and wanna-make-monkey-happy... she secretly placed an order to this blogger... It turned out to be weird since Mickeymiao insisted to go a place ( Harmatas area) yet did not unveil why she needed to go there...

So, we arrived in a house... and someone came out with a white box... which the above photo already illustrated the pattern of it... Guess, you would definitely want to try it...

see this super nice/ dulcet PASTRY....

Credit Card Tax : Good Objective, BAD Implementation

There is no change to the planned RM50 service tax for credit cards from next year, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung said.

Chor added that some banks and financial institutions were indirectly picking up the tab by offering certain promotions.

“If the banks want to keep their customers, they should offer to pay for their card-holders,” he said.

Honestly, the objective was good to ensure more prudent spending but the design of the implementation somehow left me wonder if it fits the objective.

Let's assume this is a measure or campaign of spending wisely, therefore it assumes that if one has less cards.. would have less opportunity ( less credit ) to utilise.

This sounds true BUT does reducing number of cards has effect on credits ??? This makes me wonder if reducing cards reduces future credits ??? What if I utilise 1000 credits per month but spread across 5 cards when each card has a card limit of 5000 - 1000 ? Theoretically, my spending habit may not have change even if I were to reduce from 5 cards to 2 - 3 cards...

With so many banks either promoting to have alternatives to balance off the 50 ringgit tax, I wonder if the implementation makes any sense now....

Not sure if reducing cards was a better measure than have a more prudent limit control based on various modelling ( or simulation )...

I for one, felt the effect of the annnouncement.... and what did I do ? From my list of credit cards... citibank and hong leong bank credit cards are effectively off my wallet... that's like 5 cards off...now, HSBC and AMEX are still intact though

Did my spending pattern change because of the announcement ? Hmm... I don't think so.

Garden : Awesome Customer Service ( Free Food )

LOOK, Tiger is on the screen... Awww~ that's poster... :-P Greenery ambiance... For a girl like Mickeymiao, it's like going through a courtyard that filled with thickets sneaking up the wooden stands.. Feeling fresh and mood is kind of relaxing ~

White color pianoforte was the first deco came into my sight... it creates a sense of calm and classic adornment... with a little "light" deer...

People were happily having their dinner... Guess what, all this was taken during New Year's Eve... !!! It was the time to celebrate a simple but special night with dearest ones... ( Though not too far from Mickeymiao's table was a group of 7 girls and 3 guys that were so dress up for a birthday celebration )

Well, I insisted to order this jug of orange juice... lil did I know.....that the jug...

...was this freaking BIG.

Oh well.. juice it all the way to New Year !!! Silly Mickeymiao... hahahaha.... The whole night, she counted there's approximately 6 tall glasses as in the pix shown..

Appetizer was typical mushroom soup... as usual... Mickeymiao mentioned about her experience she has in UK. She loves soup so much... every restaurant she went, she would pick one type of soup for menus... Not to forget, she said: " ya know, most restaurant served soups that we hardly heard from here... And this mushroom soup is hardly found in most UK's restaurant... Gosh... I really miss UK so muchie... ~ "

This was Mickeymiao's spaghetti... It's looked green, INDEED, it tastes like GREEN as well!!! Guess what, Mickeymiao said it's like eating grass... lol~

Chicken, I love chicken... :-) This chicken dish tastes more like a delicate 5 stars meal... Nice one!! Drooling smooth chicken meat~

Mickeymiao looked around, everyone seemed happy... Just her... She started become grumpy....WHY!!! ???

She wasn't able to swallow her spaghetti... like eating vegetarian food... she hates vegetarian foods.....!! Well, she asked the waiter to take that dish away ...

As the waiter saw her dish, the waiter did the interesting act of asking what's wrong with so much left on the plate... Miao miao didn't want to answer as she hesitated... SO, the waitress suggested to change another dish for her... Another ONE that is much more tasty as he guaranteed... Frankly speaking, this was the first and I believe it's the last time I saw a great service restaurant... :-)

Da Da... Its looked yum yum.. isnt it? With little green green vege garnish at the edge of the plate... A big prawn that smiles at Mickeymiao... Meow~ it's plain lovely and OF COURSE DELICIOUS... bit spicy though... Mickeymiao said this is 6 Stars dishieeee... Reason --&great; great customer service... and yummy spaghetti- tti - tti.... :-)

Italia: Awesome trip

Mickeymiao commuted to Italia- Pisa a couple months ago; it's a really very small town. Ever since Mickeymiao has a bad habit, whereby she just hates to plan everything in advance. This trip seemed to be an adventure to her. Though she was lucky, she accommodated in a 'home-stay' hostel. Everything which can find in hotel/ hostel, YOU-WONT-FIND-IT-HERE! Let's see some of the pictures taken during that short stay:

homey ambiance... This was taken in the kitchen. For what Mickeymiao believes, this is the classic look of Italian's kitchen... it's fabulous...

Every angle was just typical 'Europe style'. The trip in Pisa was amazingly brilliant! She enjoyed her stay in this Italian's house so much...

They served typical Italian's breakfast... Though I found in Wikitravel org over the Net,

"A note about breakfast in Italy: This is very light, often just a coffee with a pastry (cappuccino e brioche) or a piece of bread and fruit jam. Unless you know for certain otherwise, you should not expect a large breakfast. Cappuccino is a breakfast drink; ordering one after lunch or dinner is considered highly strange and considered a typical "tourist thing". A small espresso coffee is considered much more appropriate for digestion.

Another enjoyable Italian breakfast item is cornetto (pl. cornetti): a croissant or light pastry often filled with cream or nutella."

People always said exchange student in Japan or Australia. I bet maybe Italia is a good choice. Nevertheless, there is nothing but all Italian language, make sure you start to learn from it... According to Mickeymiao's experience, she knows nothing about Italia but she back-packed to three to four major cities in Italia. Throughout the trip, she talked to people in English but in return, those people used Italian language in response... Interesting?

Looks fantastics? Imagine if you know nothing and travel to Italia alone, Mickeymiao would 110% suggest you to go. Reason being simple : As long as you know English AND you are excited or as humble as Mickeymiao... lol~ people will help you even language was the only barrier. WHY!? Italians are passionate, lovely, caring and most importantly -- HELPFUL!!!

Having said that, this kind of Italian's house is really fabulous... You would never want to leave as the breakfast really awesome!!! Mickeymiao did not like bread and biscuit before this trip... Yet, she started to embrace herself to a lot A LOT of breads with HUGE butter!!!! :-)

One thing never forget, it's this.... the cereal was really delicious! Why? The house's owner taught Mickeymiao mixed this cereal with YOGURT! Yes, YOGURT! She tried one little portion with Strawberry flavor for testing! Well, she continued by another big bowl of it... Just too good to be true & HEALTHY!

Even a little toilet, they just put so many colorful set-out to create a sense of HAPPY & HOMEY!

Anyone needs tissue? yes no no YES?? :-D

This was the bed Mickeymiao slept for that night! Great because the ambiance was so darn romantic! Needless to say, it's a couple's room... ;- )

Mervelous Crunchy * French a.k.a Japanese* Dessert

So, we finally reached Singapore... and we came out from this fabulous looking building...

The one thing you would quickly realise about this country is that it is...... FULL... of shopping complexes... and is not just normal shopping complexes... the kinds that is filled with luxury items.... from GUCCI, PRADA, to the ones like MIU MIU and some I have not even heard of Malaysia...

I'm just amazed at how connected are the transportation and how inter connected a lot of the infrastructure and buildings.... it's like walking from one end of shopping complex and as you walk along, without realising it, you are in another shopping complex...

This shop is located at the end of City Link toward Suntec City .. after walking more than 4 hours straight, I just decided I need a break... and some ice cream to chill.

It has a lot cute looking ice creams...

I decided to have this called Belgium Banana Chocolate...

YUMMY.... best crush and mix the biscuit with the ice cream...

Here's a list of what they have.... definitely a place to return.

Verdict : Tasty though a bit pricey, but since it's not a regular treat ( too far for too frequent ), is ok to have another few more rounds when I return to Singapore

Damage: 5.50 ( Singapore Dollar ) (ice-cream) + 1 (crunchy experience)

Mutiara Johor Bahru : Pre - Dinner

It was a very sudden urge of thought that I just decided to go to Singapore on the very day of new year... so, I went down south... driving all the way down from KL.

After a 5 hours drive, it's almost 8pm and I was just dead tired, decided to have a pit stop at Johor Bahru for the night . Got my GPS navigator to find a decent hotel to rest.

Mutiara Johor Bahru it is...

I saw they have this 25% off the counter after 7pm and I was hungry like a horse.... so I decided to buy some before I have proper dinner...

Verdict : Couldn't tell... I was hungry like a horse but since I finish all, it's decent enough

The original plan was to have dinner at Fireman BBQ at Jaya One but somehow on that rainy night, the place was closed / reserved for a company dinner... not wanting to travel too far from the original spot, I decided to go this RumahKu.

The good thing about this makan place is that it has this homey ambience... but the downside is.... it is built from a house-like structure and the parking isn't the best in town for customers.

It has this "Ring Service" that allows you to make noises to attract attention for services...

We tried mushroom soup, mutton poriah and some nasi bryani... the soup and the nasi was nothing to shout about.. BUT the mutton poriah was extremely TASTY !!! Definately wound have order a nother dish of that if not for the reason we were ordering some other dishes to try.......

Next, we ordered some nasi lemak and a XO sauce noodle... I didn't try the nasi lemak but was told it was of moderate quality but the XO sauce noodle was a real spice.... but I was too concentrated on the noodle until no picture was taken....

Verdict : Not all are fantastic but Mutton Poriah and XO sauce noodle were good enough for a second visit

In the years past, it has been spectacularly unveiled a never-ending events of each new occurrence that actually brought me taste what life is all about. Desired life, everyone has his true meaning on it. I do wish a juicy incident that get me rich, though 6 digit numbers that could serve me 10 of million. Lol~ Well, that just a dream that would never happen.

Frankly, I am not a dreamer always hope for big money deliver from heaven. Obviously, realistic is my personal trait. Always find life is interesting, especially during working hours. Excel on my profession has always been my pride. Until most recently, life turns splendid when Mickeymiao came into my life. It is properly 110% different as she is a mickeymiao as well as lioness. As you can see through my words, it does not matter if she is always merry as she could combust happiness to me or spills her anger to me from time to time. Apparently, my desired life is with her and she is my wife-to-be-married.

Indeed, relationship is not constantly bringing sparks in everyday’s life. We are taking steps to work out everything together. She might yell at me or grumpy sometime, BUT life was not all that what I wish for as yet the effort compromises the little knots. We spice things up together, just like this blog (we made out the whole blog by bringing out interest to share with you).

Mickeymiao is an alias I used for my blog representation. I am doing this for fun and a hobby. By day, I work in a multinational company, and rest of the time, I LOVEEE..... to hang out, shop and the activity that I enjoy most is finding places to eat. Be it posh or on the street, she will venture to wherever the good food are ... and I don't discriminate the food, be it Indian food, chinese cusines, malay ikan bakars to even italian pizzas…

I will eat makan, take picture ( or take picture and makan ), blog about it hoping to share the info to those that want some view ( or reviews )…
